Opened ‘The TAK Honorary Professor’s Office’ at Postech and lectured by Chairman Lee

Chairman Lee Young-kwan gave a lecture to about 150 professors of department of chemical engineering and students at the Postech(Pohang University of Science and Technology) grand auditorium on March 13rd on the theme of ‘The Story of Success of Toray Advanced Materials Korea(TAK), a global leading company."


Chairman Lee cited close cooperation between Korea and Japan, high quality and technology competitiveness, innovative factory design, transparent and communicative organizational culture and leadership of passion as the factors that enabled the TAK to succeed, and also expressed his will to contribute to the human society by promoting science and nurturing talent through the Korea Toray Science Foundation.


Following the lecture, the opening ceremony of ‘The Honorary Professor's Office of TORAY’ was held in Room 326 of the Environmental Engineering Academy. This honorary professor's office is utilized as a place for preparing lectures and exchanging information to pass on deep academic knowledge and capabilities, which are equipped with honorary professors of chemical engineering, for future use. Chairman Lee said, "I hope that the TAK honorary professor's office will help stimulate chemical engineering research and exchange."


TORAY has been supporting the project for a long time since 2006 when it signed an agreement with Postech for training graduate and human resources for science and technology and R&D. Through this, Postech has been using its research competitiveness in chemical engineering to strengthen research competitiveness and scholarship, and TAK has been strengthening cooperation in industry and academia by inviting professors to research institutes and holding seminars on advanced technology and research trends, and major seminars every year.
