- TAK unveils next-generation Aerospace Carbon Fiber Technology at ‘ADEX 2025'
- News2025-10-21

Toray Advanced Materials Korea (President & CEO Youngsub Kim) participated in ADEX 2025 (Seoul International Aerospace & Defense Exhibition) held at KINTEX, Ilsan, from October 20 to 24, showcasing its advanced carbon fiber composite material technologies.
During the exhibition, Toray Advanced Materials Korea(TAK) presented next-generation Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) components and TOW-PREG materials that incorporate the carbon fiber composite technology of the Toray Group - the global No.1 in the carbon fiber sector. TAK plans to continue leading the advanced materials market by strengthening close partnerships with customers in the aerospace and defense industries.
In addition to the product exhibits, Toray Advanced Materials Korea(TAK) also hosted a seminar, “Advanced Composite Material Solutions for Aerospace and Defense Industries,” sharing innovative technologies for next-generation aircraft structures utilizing both thermoset and thermoplastic composites.
In last April, TAK obtained the AS9120 certification - an aerospace quality management system established by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG). With this certification TAK has been supplying Toray Group’s aerospace composite materials domestically and establishing itself as a key local production base, contributing to the rapid growth of Korea’s aerospace industry.
Meanwhile, aerospace components require materials that are both high in strength and lightweight. Carbon fiber, which offers ten times the strength of steel at only one-fourth the weight and superior elasticity, is widely used in this field. TOW-PREG, made by impregnating carbon fiber with epoxy resin, also boasts exceptional lightness and durability, making it an essential material not only for aerospace applications but also for hydrogen storage tanks.
