TAK acquire ISCC PLUS, the International Certification of sustainable products

Toray Advanced Materials Korea (CEO Jeon Hae-sang) announced that the PPS resin produced at the Gunsan plant has been recognized for its eco-friendly competitiveness by acquiring ISCC PLUS, an international certification system for sustainable products.

The certified PPS resin uses raw materials made from plant-based bio-naphtha and plastic waste pyrolysis oil that has the same physical properties as normal PPS resins, and is expected to enhance the ESG competitiveness of Toray Advanced Materials Korea as well as customers.

ISCC PLUS certification is an international certification system that verifies and grants sustainability throughout the product production process based on the European Union's renewable energy policy standards.

PPS is super engineering plastic that can replace metal for its excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, and mechanical strength. The market is further expanding into electric and electronic devices, housing facilities and industrial parts.

Toray Group, world's largest PPS resin maker, is promoting the establishment of global supply system for environmentally-friendly PPS resin by obtaining ISCC PLUS certification for not only Toray Advanced Materials Korea, but also its Dong-hae plant in Aichi Prefecture, Japan in the future.
