Chairman Lee Young-kwan publishes a memoir commemorating the golden jubilee, “Material is Competitiveness”

The commemoration Ceremony for Chairman Lee Young-kwan's 50th Jubilee and the publication of his memoir was held at the Grand Ballroom of the Federation of Korean Industries(FKI) Conference Center on the 11th.

The Ceremony was launched with the attendance of over 200 key figures who supported Toray Advanced Materials Korea including National Assembly member Koo Ja-geun, Gyeongsangbuk-do Deputy Economic Governor Lee Dal-hee, Mayor of Gumi Kim Jang-ho.

The event started with a welcoming speech by CEO Jeon Hae-sang, followed by the presentation of a merit plaque, congratulatory remarks, a commemorative video, and a special corner titled ‘A question asked by rookie employee, answered by 50 years of employee.’

The memoir "Materials are Competitiveness" published by Chairman Lee contains the story of the last 50 years of himself, the challenges and growth of Toray Advanced Materials Korea(TAK), and the trajectory of Korean materials industry and its development.

In addition, it contains our intention to contribute to improving the competitiveness of materials needed by the industry by disseminating how our company contributes to society.

In his memoir, Chairman Lee cited the spirit of 'ownership', 'patience', 'harmony', 'change &innovation', and 'putting oneself in someone's shoes' as the principle to maintaining the same position over the past 50 years.

Lastly, Chairman Lee said that he appreciate everyone who has made his life at the workplace possible so far. Above all, he added that he would like to give all credit to the executives and employees who took the lead in difficult times and participated in overcoming the crisis.

Chairman Lee Young-kwan started out as an engineer who majored in chemical engineering. He has led Korea's first and best chemical materials success story, including IT materials, carbon fiber, PPS resin, water treatment filters, and secondary battery separators with sharp judgment, bold determination, and strong driving force.
