Toray Advanced Materials Korea (TAK) was honored with the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award and the Chairman’s Award from the Korea Federation of Textile Industries (KOFOTI) at the 39th Textile Day ceremony held on November 11 at the Textile Center in Samseong-dong, Seoul.
The event was attended by more than 500 participants, including officials from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and representatives from various textile associations. A range of awards were presented to individuals that have made significant contributions to the development of the textile and fashion industries.
Lee Sang-hyun, Team Leader of the Aramid Production Team at TAK, received the Minister’s Award in recognition of his contribution to establishing Korea’s first dry-spinning production process. He developed an integrated production portfolio encompassing Staple Fiber, Filament, Paper raw materials (Floc and Fibrid), and dope-dyed Yarn, contributing to the advancement of domestic meta-aramid manufacturing technology.
In addition, Kim Ji-won, Manager of the PSF Sales Team 1, received the Chairman’s Award from the Korea Federation of Textile Industries (KOFOTI) for his leadership in developing new markets and expanding exports of low melting point fibers (LM Fiber), thereby enhancing the TAK's global competitiveness.
Award recipients said that “We are pleased that our efforts have been recognized,” and added, “We will continue to contribute to the growth of both the company and the textile industry through continuous technological innovation and quality improvement.”
Meanwhile, the Korea Federation of Textile Industries(KOFOTI), which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, established Textile Day in 1987 to commemorate the first US$10 billion export milestone for a single domestic industry. The event has been held annually to recognize the continued development of the domestic textile industry and the contributions of textile and fashion professionals.
