TAK Participates in Techtextil 2026

Toray Advanced Materials Korea(TAK) participated in Techtextil 2026, the world’s leading trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens, held in Frankfurt, Germany, from April 21 to 24, where it introduced advanced materials including meta-aramid fibers and ultra-fine sound-absorbing materials.

Arawin, TAK's meta-aramid fiber, is a high-performance material developed in Korea using a proprietary dry spinning process. It offers excellent heat resistance exceeding 400°C, along with outstanding flame retardancy and electrical insulation properties.

Based on its annual production capacity of 5,400 tons secured through expansion last year, the company plans to expand its presence in high-value-added applications such as ultra-high-voltage transformers, electric vehicles, and heat-resistant protective apparel.

Airlite, an ultra-fine sound-absorbing material, is a lightweight nonwoven product manufactured using a meltblown process combining polypropylene (PP) and polyester (PET). With an annual production capacity of 4,800 tons, it provides excellent sound absorption performance across a wide frequency range. Its lightweight characteristics are driving increased adoption, particularly in the electric vehicle sector.

Demand for lightweight sound-absorbing materials is expected to grow further with the development of the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) industry.

At the exhibition, Toray Advanced Materials Korea(TAK)  jointly operated a booth with Toray Group affiliates, including TIEU, TFA, and TI, demonstrating its advanced material technologies and global competitiveness.
