Toray Advanced Materials Korea(TAK) participated in the 22nd International Fire & Safety Expo Korea 2026, held at EXCO in Daegu from May 20 to 22, where it showcased the technology of Arawin, its high-performance meta-aramid safety material.
Arawin, which TAK produces through Korea’s first dry spinning process, is a high-performance material with excellent heat resistance and outstanding flame retardancy. It is capable of withstanding temperatures exceeding 200°C and is attracting attention as a core material that helps protect workers in extreme environments.
At the exhibition, TAK jointly operated a booth with its subsidiary TAK Textile Korea and Raon KD, a company specializing in firefighting protective apparel. Together, the companies introduced an integrated value chain for high-performance safety materials, covering aramid yarn, fabric, and firefighting protective clothing. Through this, TAK highlighted its cooperative framework and technological competitiveness in the fire and safety industry.
TAK official stated, “Based on the superior quality and technology of our meta-aramid fiber, TAK plan to actively expand into domestic and overseas fire and safety markets while increasing the supply of high-performance heat-resistant materials.”
Meanwhile, TAK recently participated in Techtextil 2026 in Germany and IEEE PES T&D 2026 in the United States, where it showcased the technological competitiveness of Arawin in high-value-added industrial applications, including heat-resistant protective apparel, ultra-high-voltage transformers, and electric vehicles.
