Toray Advanced Materials Korea(TAK) announced that it has jointly developed a high-performance PET interior film with Hansol HomeDeco, improving the flexibility limitations of conventional PET materials.

PET materials are widely used as surface finishing materials for furniture doors due to their excellent processability and appearance quality. However, their inherent rigidity has limited their application to complex structures such as curved surfaces and right-angled corners.

The two companies developed a highly flexible PET interior film through approximately two years of joint research.

Using its proprietary film processing and manufacturing technologies, along with high-performance elastic materials, TAK has secured flexibility approximately twice that of conventional PVC materials. This enables the film to be stably applied to complex structures, including curved surfaces and corners, without lifting.

The newly developed PET interior film will be applied to Hansol HomeDeco’s “Hansol Story Film” lineup.

TAK representative said, “We will continue to develop high-performance interior materials based on our competitive film technologies and expand our next-generation product lineup, including PET flame-retardant films.”
