TAK launches DEO Shield Odor-Control Functional Yarn

<span style="font-size: 11pt;">Toray Advanced Materials Korea(TAK) is strengthening its presence in the functional textile market with the launch of DEO Shield™, an odor-control functional yarn designed to help manage body odor in everyday life throughout all four seasons, including the hot and sweaty summer months.</span><span style="font-size: 11pt;">DEO Shield™ features an odor-control function applied directly to the yarn itself, helping to effectively reduce odor-causing substances. It also offers excellent durability, maintaining its functionality even after repeated washing. These features provide consumers with a more hygienic and refreshing wearing experience.</span><span style="font-size: 11pt;">When blended with SNOLENE, TAK’s cooling yarn launched last year, DEO Shield™ can offer both cooling performance and comfort depending on the intended use of the final product. This is expected to further expand its potential as a functional material for summer applications.</span><span style="font-size: 11pt;">With the launch of DEO Shield™, TAK has expanded its product portfolio beyond cooling pads and bedding materials to include odor-control functional materials. TAK Participates in International Fire & Safety Expo Korea 2026

Toray Advanced Materials Korea(TAK) participated in the 22nd International Fire & Safety Expo Korea 2026, held at EXCO in Daegu from May 20 to 22, where it showcased the technology of Arawin, its high-performance meta-aramid safety material.Arawin, which TAK produces through Korea’s first dry spinning process, is a high-performance material with excellent heat resistance and outstanding flame retardancy. It is capable of withstanding temperatures exceeding 200°C and is attracting attention as a core material that helps protect workers in extreme environments.At the exhibition, TAK jointly operated a booth with its subsidiary TAK Textile Korea and Raon KD, a company specializing in firefighting protective apparel. Together, the companies introduced an integrated value chain for high-performance safety materials, covering aramid yarn, fabric, and firefighting protective clothing. Through this, TAK highlighted its cooperative framework and technological competitiveness in the fire and safety industry.TAK official stated, “Based on the superior quality and technology of our meta-aramid fiber, TAK plan to actively expand into domestic and overseas fire and safety markets while increasing the supply of high-performance heat-resistant materials.”Meanwhile, TAK recently participated in Techtextil 2026 in Germany and IEEE PES T&D 2026 in the United States, where it showcased the technological competitiveness of Arawin in high-value-added industrial applications, including heat-resistant protective apparel, ultra-high-voltage transformers, and electric vehicles.

TAK participates in IEEE PES T&D 2026 in the US, showcasing Meta-Aramid Paper Technology

Toray Advanced Materials Korea(TAK) participated in IEEE PES T&D 2026, the world’s largest power industry exhibition held in Chicago, USA, from May 4 to 7, where it showcased its advanced meta-aramid paper technology.Meta-aramid paper is a high-performance material with outstanding heat resistance and electrical insulation properties, capable of withstanding temperatures of 220°C for more than 60,000 hours. It is regarded as a core material optimized for enhancing the safety and efficiency of power equipment while enabling miniaturization and higher performance.A TAK official stated, “The North American market is a key region where demand for high-performance insulation materials is rapidly increasing due to the expansion of AI data centers and growing demand for replacement of aging power infrastructure,” adding, “Through this exhibition, we aim to promote the superior technology of our meta-aramid paper and expand cooperation with local customers and partners.”Based on its dry-process manufacturing technology, which TAK became the second company in the world to secure, the company also provides a laminating total solution combining meta-aramid paper and polyester film. Through this solution, TAK plans to enhance customers’ design efficiency and process stability while strengthening its presence in the insulation materials market for next-generation power equipment.

TAK delivers Development Fund to Sister Military Unit

On April 30, Toray Advanced Materials Korea(TAK) visited its sister unit, the Republic of Korea Army 5th Artillery Brigade (Brigadier General Han Gyu-ha), and delivered a development fund of KRW 10 million to support the welfare and morale of the soldiers.In particular, President Kim Young-seop personally attended the visit to express his appreciation to the troops dedicated to national defense, further reinforcing the significance of the sisterhood that has continued for over a decade.Since establishing the sisterhood in 2012, TAK and the 5th Artillery Brigade have maintained active exchanges, including development fund donations, invitation events for exemplary officers and their spouses, and military experience programs for employees’ children.President Kim stated, “We will continue to realize the value of partnership with our sister unit through ongoing and active exchanges.”Meanwhile, TAK has been carrying out various CSR initiatives, including environmental protection and community contribution, and plans to further strengthen its ESG management by fulfilling its corporate social responsibilities.
